Abacoa in Jupiter is in the process of the final phase called Windsor Park. As the last phase of Abacoa finishes up over the next several years we will be celebrating nearly 20 years since Abacoa was first developed. Yes 20 years and it seems like just yesterday. The many different phases of Abacoa continue to bring new ideas, features and models to the community. It has been quite a success story after starting off on a slow foot. The Downtown in Abacoa has seen some troubles as businesses have come and gone as competition between other new venues have drawn away the crowds. Overall the entire Abacoa Jupiter concept has been a success for the area.
The future of Abacoa
What can we expect for the future of Abacoa as homes hit the 20 year age mark? With very little space left for new construction Abacoa will still be some of the newer homes here in Jupiter. Many of the homes just like the Bluffs in Jupiter were well built and continue to be popular even today. Sure it is time for some upgrades in the older homes here but we should start to see new kitchens and baths. I hope to see the replacement of the bland white cabinets and inexpensive Corian skins with beautiful new 42″ cabinets and granite counters. The exterior of the buildings as well as the landscaping are still top notch even with age. The communities are well maintained and should continue to be a popular and desirable place to live here in Jupiter.

My favorite is the once per month car shows which feature classic cars of the 60’s and 70’s. You’ll see some Mustangs and of course a fair share of Camaros both popular cars in their days and a favorite of many today no matter what age you may be. Golfers don’t forget a tee time at the Abacoa Golf Club which can be challenging no matter what skill level you may be.
